Yox is a species of animals in The Banner Saga.

Yoxen are woolly mammals who were created by the Loom-mother. Due to their thick hides and fur, they are able to survive in cold temperatures. Yoxen serve as domestic animals for both humans and varls due to their strength, helping in transportation of people and goods by pulling carts. The varls were also created through the melding of human and yox features in fire.
A special breed of the yox is called the "Nautmot Yox", which is bred exclusively in the great plains of Nautmot by the varls and is rare in human provinces. They are highly prized due to being superior than the other breeds.
