At Einartoft, the first varl king found himself unable to push further into the north, cut off by a vast gorge at the crook of the Wyrmscale Mountains. He had built a bridge of such massive construction that it takes nearly three days to cross on foot. As the legend goes, the varl only managed to build it by filling the gorge with the bodies of dredge and working atop them.
